Also, we would like to give a BIG thanks to all those who have given the biggest sacrifice for our amazing country!!! We are the land of the free because of the free!!!!!

Brussels, Belgium

Brussels, Belgium was our first big adventure when we moved to Germany!!! We took a one-day trip to celebrate our 2nd year of wedded bliss!!

Brussels is the capital and the city host around 1.1 million residents, the metro area has 1.8 million residents and they are the largest areas in all of Belgium!!  -Talk about traffic!!

After the end of World War II, it became the centre for international politics. The headquarters of NATO is found here!!

The city was founded by Charles the Lorraine in c.979. Language is French, Dutch, and Flemish!!

That sounds like enough of a history lesson….on to everyone’s favorite part, especially the husbands…Pictures!!

The Atomium is what Belgium wanted to create to be like the Eiffel Tower, but unfortunately it is no where near the town of Brussels and not the easiest to find!!

A merchant lost his son in the town while he was doing business. He looked for him for so long and told everyone when he found his son he would errant a statue in his honor. Well you can imagine where he was found and what he was doing!! They do dress him for holidays!! When my mother visited we saw him dressed in a leprechaun!!

Belgium beer is very old and tasty. It started back when the Monks would make it because they did not have medicine and the alcohol helped the ill. There is a yeast only found in Belgium that goes in some of the beer that you can only find in Belgium!!

Off to study for Statistics & Probability test tomorrow 🙂 Updates on Belgium, Italy, and many more places in the next week!! Also, some easy DIY projects!!
